Kigali Memorial Centre was set up by the Aegis Trust and opened in 2004 with the tenth commemoration of the Rwandan Genocide.

Thousands of thousands of people come to morn with genocide survivors during the commemoration period...genocide survivors say it's their home- over 250,000 genocide victims killed in Kigali and its surroundings are buried there.

The best way to prevent genocide is to remember.
